WACO A pilot escaped injury after his aerobatic airplane spun around during takeoff from a Central Texas airport.
The Waco Tribune-Herald reports Maxwell Shauck was attempting to get the biplane aloft from McGregor Executive Airport near Waco on Saturday afternoon when the right brake locked up.
This pulled the aircraft to the right and the plane hit a runway light, blowing out a tire. The right wheel gear also collapsed during the resulting spin-around.
Shauck is the former chair of the Baylor University aviation sciences department.
Federal Aviation Administration officials will investigate the incident.
