A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Madision, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, & Washington Counties until 8am Saturday morning.
BRYAN Waldenbrooke Estates, a senior living community, is fully cooperating with the Brazos County Health Department while it investigates sanitation concerns in the facility’s kitchen. The kitchen is currently closed while Waldenbrooke officials work to rectify the situation.
“We closed the kitchen immediately once the inspector expressed concerns, and we’re working one-on-one with her to take corrective action,” said Keel Wheless, executive director of Waldenbrooke Estates. “The kitchen will remain closed until the inspector is satisfied that we are in compliance with all county health regulations.”
At no time was residents’ health and safety in jeopardy. The dining room is not affected, so the facility is catering in meals for residents until the situation is resolved.
“We will reopen the kitchen and reinstate our dining program as quickly and efficiently as possible,” Wheless said. “In the meantime, we’re taking care of residents’ dietary needs and providing satisfying and nutritious meals.”
“We put our residents’ health and safety first in everything we do,” he added. “We take these situations very seriously and apply best practices to resolve problems and provide a superior community.”
