A fast moving fire swept through a Huntsville Mexican Food Restaurant Tuesday night and destroyed the entire building.

It happened about 11:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Rodeo Mexican Restaurant on Highway 75 North.

Pictures from the "Huntsville Item" show the huge fire in which more than 20 firefighters responded from across Walker County.

""Everything's lost. Nothing's usable in there and yeah pretty bad," said Micaela Moreno, a hostess at Rodeo Mexican Restaurant.

Complete devastation is the scene in Huntsville after fire rips through the Rodeo Mexican Restaurant.

Micaela Moreno worked here for more than a year, but now all that's up in the air for her and about 8 other employees.

"I got a call from my parents and said that it was on fire. They heard it on the 'Huntsville Item' so I was hoping that it wasn't true but apparently it was," she said.

"We hope they'll be able to recover quickly," said Kipp Burnett, who owns and operates the Chicken Express next door and called 911 a little before 11:30 Tuesday night when they saw smoke. Employees had all left for the night at the Rodeo Restaurant when the fire started.

"We saw smoke and then five minutes later by the time we called 911 and came back out the building was in flames," said Burnett.

The fire was so destructive it caused an estimated $900,000 to upwards of $1 million in damage and there's really nothing left to save. The owner tells us she does hope to rebuild.

Huntsville Assistant Fire Chief John Waldo tells us no one was hurt in the blaze. It took crews more than three and a half hours to contain it.

"We're gonna work hand and hand with the insurance company and we're gonna try to figure out what happened exactly. It's high in nature toward the back toward the kitchen so we are not sure the exact spot but we'll figure that out," said Waldo.

"They're all workers that worked here well just pretty much. Pretty tragic everybody without a job, can't do anything but just sit and wait," said Micaela Moreno.

Waiting for answers on why this fire happened.

Fire investigators believe the fire started at the back of the restaurant near the kitchen but haven't released a cause.
