A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH has been issued for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Madison, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, and Washington Counties until 8pm. Severe thunderstorms are possible with large hail and strong, damaging winds being the main concern. A brief, isolated tornado threat cannot be ruled out, as well.
Dozens of people will be hired on to the new Walmart location in Bryan, and the process to fill the openings has begun.
Starting Monday, the company is accepting applications at a temporary hiring center at the current Bryan Walmart location on Briarcrest Drive. The center will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Interesting applicants can also schedule appointments Saturdays or apply online at http://careers.walmart.com
Walmart will be hiring in the neighborhood of 70 associates, according to the company. Jobs available are full- and part-time, and the majority will begin in June in advance of the opening.
“We are excited to add the first Walmart Neighborhood Market to Bryan and bring good jobs with great career opportunities to the area,” said store manager Jose Mendez.
The new location will be going in on Texas Avenue where the old Albertson's use to be.
