A Walmart shopper is recovering after police say she was hit by a car.
Investigators say the accident happened around 10:30 last night in Conroe.
They received a call from a frantic driver who said she believes she struck someone.
Officers arrived on the scene to find a female in her mid-twenties lying on the side of the roadway. The shoulder was littered with what appeared to be grocery items, shoes and towels.
After trying to stabilize the female on the scene she was flown to Houston in very critical condition.
According to police, the victim was pushing a cart full of grocery home. She was going westbound and crossing an unlit area of the roadway when a car, also going westbound, hit her accidentally.
No charges have been filed.
