She's athletic, generous and outgoing. And at only 14 years old -- she knows her future is bright. But now -- her future will be forever changed.
This doesn't happen very often, but between the time of our filming of our Wednesday's Child up until this evening, we just received word that our feature for this month has officially found a forever home.
"It really means a lot to me because I haven't had a mom since I was four and it just really means a lot; I mean, I would love to have a mom; it’s something I desire," said Blanca. I never knew my dad, I never knew him at all. To be respectful basically, and have him be over-protective, not too over-protective about the things I do. Everybody always needs to be loved and needs to have someone there for them when there sad, down or depressed and if they don't have that then who is going to be there for them? I'd rather have a family because family means everything."
Blanca's success story is extraordinary. She's so special, we took her to get pampered at Boardwalk Hair Salon in Bryan and the generous staff showered her with gifts, styling products, cosmetics and even shampoo and conditioner.
Blanca just began her sophomore year of high school and at the time of our filming said she couldn't wait to try out for the volleyball team again.
"I really love to play, I don't know what it is about it, but I love all sports, just volleyball, to me, is the most fun," said Blanca. "I really got into it in the seventh grade."
She says she loves watching NCIS on TV and the show has sparked her interest to one day work in forensics.
