CHICAGO - The Illinois Department of Transportation has a fleet of 600 trucks to plow roadways today in Northern Illinois.

The state is expecting as much as 10 inches of heavy, wet snow in Chicago and elsewhere in the region from a storm moving out of the Dakotas and Minnesota.

The forecast also calls for 8 to 10 inches of snow in northwest Indiana as the storm moves east.

The National Weather Service says it'll be the biggest widespread storm this winter in the region.

In Wisconsin, as much as a foot of snow is in the forecast, and then the snow moves east.
