BRYAN, Texas A woman has been arrested for the brutal stabbing death of a man in Bryan.

On Thursday, the Bryan Police Department arrested Inez Yvette Busby of Bryan, for the murder of Raymond J. Lockett, 54.

The murder happened Saturday, March 1 at a home in the 2400 block of Jaguar Dr.

Investigators said when police arrived, the found Lockett stabbed to death.

Busby and the victim got into some sort of altercation before the stabbing, police said.

"We did have contact with the suspect, but did not make an arrest at that time," said Kelley McKethan with the Bryan Police Department.

Investigators said it wasn't until a couple of days later, when they questioned her again, that they got suspicious.

"After talking to her continually, and stories became conflicting, and statements were inconsistent with evidence, at that point, we decided to get a warrant on her for the murder of Raymond Lockett," said McKethan.

McKethan said Busby had been renting a room from the victim for about two weeks. Before that, police said Busby was living in Somerville.

Police haven't release any more details about the investigation. Busby is being held at the Brazos County Jail.
