Woman Found Shot In Madison County Home Dies From Injuries

MADISON COUNTY, Texas - A woman found shot in a Madison County home has died.

The 56-year-old was critically injured Thursday and rushed to St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.

This happened at a home in the 16000 block of Highway 21, near North Zulch.

At this time, police are not looking for suspects.

Police have identified the woman and an autopsy is being performed in Austin.

Sheriff's Officials tells us the woman was shot in the upper chest with a rifle but it's unclear if the gun was accidentally fired.

Investigators do not believe anyone else was involved.
