MAGNOLIA – A woman in Montgomery County could be charged with filing a false police report after the Sheriff’s Office says she concocted a story about a struggle with an intruder.
The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about 12:30 Saturday afternoon. A woman who lives in the 40600 block of Springfield Lane in Magnolia said she was home alone with her 11 year old son when a male intruder broke in. She says she grabbed a gun and confronted the intruder.
During the struggle she claims ensued, the woman was shot in the left shoulder. She says the
intruder then ran out the back door.
Several units responded, including a canine deputy, but they could not find the intruder. During the investigation, detectives found several inconsistencies wither the woman’s story. The Sheriff’s Office now says she fabricated the story and there was never an intruder. They have not said why they think she shot herself in the shoulder.
The case is being forwarded to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office for possible
charges of False Report to a Peace Officer.
