Walker County Woman Allegedly Killed By Nephew

WALKER COUNTY - The Walker County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man they believe killed his aunt and attacked his uncle.

William Bradham called 911 at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday. He told deputies his nephew killed his wife and choked him until he was unconscious at their home in the 4700 block of FM 1374.

Deputies found the body of Linda Bradham, 61, in a bedroom. She appeared to have suffered some type of cutting injuries, as well as blunt force injures to her head and upper body. They found her nephew, 36-year-old Todd Leatherland, hiding in a tree on the property. He jumped in a failed attempt to get away.

Detectives, along with the Texas Rangers, recovered a large knife inside the home. It is believed to be the weapon used to cause the injuries to Linda Bradham.

William Bradham was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital where he was treated for injuries he received during the assault. Leatherland was injured when he jumped out of the tree. He was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital and later to St. Joseph's in Bryan.
