On September 25th at approximately 11:21 AM, officers with the College Station Police Department responded to the intersection of University Drive East and Copperfield Parkway for a report of a major accident.

Through their investigation, officers were able to determine the following sequence of events.

A 2009 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling east on University Drive East attempted to make a left turn into the northbound lanes of Copperfield Parkway at the intersection.

The pickup truck had an unprotected green light. As the pickup turned, it was struck on the passenger side by a 2003 BMW 325i traveling west on University.

The impact caused the pickup truck to roll over and slide into a 2012 Toyota Camry in the southbound lanes of Copperfield Parkway that was stopped at the light.

Traffic in the area was diverted for almost two hours as officers worked to investigate the crash and clear the scene. Ambulances with the Bryan and College Station Fire Departments transported the occupants of the pickup truck and the BMW to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment. The following individuals involved in the crash have been identified as:

· 2009 Chevrolet Pickup
o Driver – Betty Pennington, 78 years old, Bryan resident, non-incapacitating injuries
o Passenger – Gary Pennington, 59 years old, Bryan resident, non-incapacitating injuries
· 2003 BMW 325i
o Driver - Glenn Agnolet, 58 years old, College Station resident, non-incapacitating injuries
· 2012 Toyota Camry
o Driver – Bonnie Sowders, 51 years old, Larue, Texas resident, not injured

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup was cited for Failure to Yield the Right of Way Turning Left.
