Egypt's Military Rulers Dissolve Parliament

Egypt's military leaders have met two key demands of protesters: dissolving parliament and suspending the constitution.

They say the steps are temporary and they will only run the country until elections can be held.

Protesters say the country's military rulers are starting to offer the changes they've been demanding.

They are also pushing for repeal of the decades-old emergency laws.

Most of the protesters have left the Cairo square that was the scene of nearly three weeks of protests, but some holdouts have scuffled with troops trying to clear the area.

The military rulers and the caretaker government have set restoration of security as a top priority.
