One of Texas A&M’s quarterbacks was arrested early Friday morning.

Freshman Johnathon Manziel,19, was arrested in the Northgate area of College Station when an officer on bicycle patrol saw a fight.

In a police report released Friday police describe the scene as a group of people surrounding two men fighting.

One of them was Manziel.

Police asked Manziel for his driver’s license.

He gave them one that said he was 21 years old.

When police questioned his date of birth, Manziel gave them conflicting dates. Manziel was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, failure to identify and having a fake license.

He was booked into the Brazos County Jail where bond was set at $6500.

Late Friday afternoon A&M Head Football Coach Kevin Sumlin released this statement: “I have been made aware of the situation with Johnny Manziel. We are gathering all the facts and will handle the situation once we have all of the information. We are disappointed with his actions and this is out of character for Johnny.”
