COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- This morning Aggie junior center Kelsey Bone announced that she is leaving Texas A&M following her May graduation and making herself eligible for the WNBA Draft.

Aggie Women's Head Basketball Coach Gary Blair sat along side Bone as she made her announcement.

Projected as a first round selection (4th-8th overall pick), Bone will become the 9th player drafted by the WNBA out of Texas A&M joining Tocarra Williams (San Antonio), Morenike Atunrase (San Antonio), Aqua Franklin (Sacramento), Danielle Gant (Chicago), Tanisha Smith (Seattle), Danielle Adams (San Antonio), Sydney Colson (New York), Sydney Carter (Chicago), and Tyra White (Los Angeles).

Tuesday Bone was named an Associated Press Third Team All American.

Bone, one of only three SEC players to be honored by the AP, scored the fourth most points in a single season in program history with 582, while ranking third in the SEC at 16.6 points per game. Additionally, the Houston native pulled down 326 rebounds to rank second in the A&M single season record books and place second in the SEC averaging 9.3 rebounds per contest.

Behind Bone’s strong and consistent play the Aggies earned a program-best eighth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament while claiming the school’s first SEC team championship by winning the league’s post-season tournament in Duluth, Ga. Among Bone’s highlights was a career-high 33-point outburst in the World Vision Classic in Las Vegas against Old Dominion, one of her SEC-leading two 30-point outings on the year. The center also recorded an Aggie Reed Arena-record 17 rebounds against Ole Miss in late February.
