He arrived with no advance public announcement in the southern city of Basra this morning to talk to allied military commanders, including the British. Posted: 01/19/2007 - A new study finds cancer risks are greater for children who live close to the Houston Ship Channel and adjacent industrial plants. The 18-month study examined Harris County cancer cases from 1995 to 2003 and emissions including 1,3-butadiene and benzene. It's the first study to identify a possible link between cancer risks and toxic air pollution in Harris County.

Updated: 01/19/2007 - In April 2003, Roger Russell was arrested and charged with the murder of James Davidson. Russell was found guilty in 2004, but just two months ago, an appeals court voided that verdict. Now, Russell is guilty again after that same appeals court changed its mind.
Updated: 01/19/2007 - A Brazos County grand jury handed up 19 indictments Thursday including one for a College Station man accused of breaking into a woman's apartment and trying to sexually assault her. Daniel Estrello, 19, was indicted for burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sex offense.
Updated: 01/19/2007 - A man wanted for sexually assaulting a teenage girl in California has been arrested by Bryan Police. Byron Hightower of Navasota was arrested Tuesday by the police department's Drug Enforcement Team. The United States Marshal's Office had asked the Bryan Police Department to help with the investigation.

Jay Richardson says he's doing it in hopes of answering questions about how his father died in a 1959 plane crash -- one that also claimed the lives of rock 'n' rollers Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens.

The bill would give 170 (m) million dollars annually to Mexico over a five-year period for costs such as training Mexican police and improving coordination with American law enforcement.
