Man Wanted in Hammer Attack

Updated: 10/25/2006 - College Station Police and Brazos County Crime Stoppers are looking for a man they believe attacked a woman with a hammer. A warrant has been issued for 22-year-old LaBrandon Jarrell Searcy. He is described as a black male, 5'9" and 190 lbs. He has a tattoo of "Dino" on his right arm and a dollar sign on his left arm.

High Early Voter Turn-Out

Updated: 10/24/2006 - The Brazos County Clerk's office has reported what they call a high total for the first day of early voting. 638 people turned out Monday to vote in the 2006 general election. The county clerk's office did not have a record of how many people voted per day in the last gubernatorial election in 2002, but did say in total 18,000 people voted early.

Task Force Heads Home from East Texas

Updated: 10/23/2006 - Texas Task Force 1 was demobilized from East Texas by local officials and the State Operations Center on Monday. The team had been assisting local officials with damage assessments from the recent heavy rainfall caused by flooding along the Neches River. This weekend, they saved 12 people from the rising floodwaters.

Blinn student Kenneth Peterson, 21, was released from custody Friday morning after posting a $60,000 bond. His alleged accomplice, Texas A&M student Walter Williams, 20, posted a $63,000 bond Friday night.
