Updated: 08/18/2006 - A three-vehicle accident on FM 2818 in northwest Bryan closed the road for several hours Friday afternoon and evening. It reopened around 9pm. Two people were injured in the wreck, which happened around 2:45pm Friday.

Hundreds of Seized Pit Bulls Ordered Euthanized

Posted: 08/18/2006 - A Liberty County court has ordered euthanasia for more than 200 pit bull terriers that were seized from a suspected breeding operation. Liberty County Justice of the Peace Phil Fitzgerald issued the order yesterday. A veterinarian testified that pit bulls trained for fighting usually cannot be rehabilitated as pets.
