A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Montgomery, Washington, and Waller counties until 12pm Tuesday. Heavy rain and thunderstorms swept through early this AM, dumping 1-3 inches of rain in one hour.
Off and on since the beginning of March we've been broadcasting full power on our digital transmitter. The KBTX signal strength went from 25-thousand watts to a million watts.
The increase insures a crystal clear reception in most of the areas that received us when we're broadcasting an analog signal. It also extends our coverage area. Our signal now reaches well past the Woodlands, to Lake Livingston, past Cameron, past Giddings, past Katy.
The process to get us to this point has been a undertaking for everyone here at KBTX-Media. So to celebrate this transition and to honor the past and the present we will have a special segment for you Tuesday evening starting at 6:15. Don't be surprised if you see some familiar faces and names form the past. Again this starts Tuesday evening at 6:15. If you can't get to a TV in time, we'll also have Tuesday's newscast streamed live on KBTX.COM. We hope you'll join us for that.
