Taxi Driver Sought After 2 Dead Near Texas Mall

IRVING, Texas (AP) - Police are searching for a taxi driver
suspected of gunning down two men in a store parking lot near a
suburban Dallas mall.

Irving police say there did not appear to be any criminal
activity before the attack Sunday afternoon in a parking lot across
the street from Irving Mall.

Police on Monday identified the victims as 35-year-old Mehboob
Pirani of Euless and 35-year-old Rahim Merchant of Missouri City.
Pirani died at a Dallas hospital, while Merchant was dead at the

Witnesses told police that the driver of a yellow or gold cab
opened fire, then he fled. Police have not released his name or any
possible motive.
