We are in the last days of the Bush Presidency.

Earlier this week the President had his last news conference where he seemed to be at peace, but spoke his mind in some of the most open dialog he's had since the beginning of his first term.

Journalists from around the country have wanted to have one on one interviews with the President before he leaves office.

Only four got that opportunity this week.

One of them was Julie Hays from our sister station KWTX in Waco.

Not only did she get to talk to the President, but she got to sit down with the first lady as well.

On Thursday and Friday you will be able to watch and listen as the Bush's talk Texas.

For 7 years, we've watched him, just like you, from afar.. or as close as you can get considering the President of the United States is somewhat of a neighbor.

Julie Hays put requests in for years to the White House to sit down one-on-one with President Bush. She finally got a yes on January 5 from the White House.

Soon Julie learned the First Lady also wished to attend. The interview was Monday afternoon, just hours after the President's last news conference which you probably saw... where the national media pounded him on the issues he talks about almost daily including: the economy, his dismal approval ratings, and the war.

Have you ever wondered more personal things about the First couple and their ties to Central Texas? Will they actually be spending as much time as you think at the ranch and what do they do out there anyway? What about Baylor's bid for the library? Why was it rejected and did Laura actually consider it when having such strong ties to SMU?

We have personal conversations with the first couple about those topics, along with questions about Fort Hood, Chet Edwards, visits by world leaders to the ranch, and who could forget - the anti war protest that was started by Cindy Sheehan.

You won't be able to watch this interview anywhere else because it's local to you, and all about a place the President and First Lady say they love, and consider home, Central Texas.

Be sure to catch this exclusive Presidential interview on KBTX at News at 5,6, and 10 Thursday and Friday.
