President Bush's term in office is now numbered in days.

As we saw for ourselves during his visit to Texas A&M last month, the President appears to be much more relaxed and reflective as his time winds down.

Julie Hays from our sister station KWTX News 10 recently set down with the first couple to talk about their time spent in Central Texas during the White House years; days the President and Mrs. Bush recall fondly.

Julie
You have a lot of foreign dignitaries that have visited the ranch. Anything unusual that comes to mind that happened during one of those visits?

Mrs. Bush
We've had more than a dozen world leaders come visit us at the ranch and in fact, the ranch was a very popular place for people to come.

I remember when president Bush invited President Chung za Mehn from China to the United states and they did a press conference and President Chung za Minn said he'd been invited to the ranch, which actually George hadn't mentioned to me, but of course we were thrilled to have him there.

It was a very popular place for people to visit and we'll still have a lot of world leaders visit us there, a lot of the people we've made friends with over these past eight years who maybe are retiring or retiring shortly after we are and we'll stay friends with them.

Julie
Tell us about your home in Dallas and why you chose it?

Mrs. Bush
I found the perfect house for a couple of empty nesters and it's not as big as you saw reported in other newspapers, I think they have it confused with another house but, it'll be fun. We'll have ranch to go to on weekends, long weekends now that we're retired and we'll have the home in Dallas as we work on building at SMU the Bush Library.

Julie
Did you ever consider making the ranch you permanent residence?

Mrs. Bush
Well the ranch will be our permanent residence. It'll be considered our permanent residence, but we'll want a house in town so that we can work on the library and travel out of Dallas which will be easier to do.

Julie
How much time will you be spending in Crawford in coming years?

President Bush
I know for certain I'll be spending my first day after my presidency in Crawford - next Wednesday in Crawford. You know a fair amount of time. I anticipate spending a lot of time in Dallas close to the presidential center we're gonna build at SMU, but as much as I can. I mean I really enjoy it there and I have some great mountain biking trails and good fishing and got a lot of buddies that like to come down there.

Julie
No consideration of ever selling it?

President Bush
None. No

Hope the media leaves him alone to fantasize about his "legacy". If stupid was a medical disease and daddy's money couldn't buy a cure, he wouldn't have survived past his twenties. Jimmy, Texas is an enormous state with millions of people who realize Bush was a disaster, just like the the vast majority of the rest of the country realizes it. You can leave, we're staying to work on trying to recover from 8 years of Bubba-acrocy.

Girly: What is a looser? Jimmy: Are you serious? Kept us safe for 8 years? Have you been is a cave the last 8 years? His lack of action here at home is one of the main reasons the economy is in the shape it is in now! He made so much money from the oil companies that he ignored the wrong they were doing to the American public. The oil companies are solely responsible for the economy! How does gas rise to $4 a gallon then fall back to about $1.5? If they would have been honest businessmen as opposed to the crooks they are, the auto and housing industries would not be so horrific right now. People quit buying new vehicles or bought only new cars because of the fuel prices. Those prices caused an increase of prices of all goods and services. That increase lead to people not being able to pay their mortgages. They post record profit after record profit while Americans fall further and further into debt. Greedy trash, plain and simple! Death to big oil!!!
