We are continuing our coverage from the White House, and our exclusive one on one conversations with the president and first lady.
Our sister station, News 10, was the only central Texas news organization invited to the White House for the interview....along with only a handful of other Texas journalists.
The interview was granted, in part, because of the first couples love for central Texas.
Both of them lit up when talking about their Crawford area ranch-- and not just the property itself, but the people, too.

Anything you'd like to say to the people of Central Texas that have provided security for you while in our area and welcomed you as a neighbor for so many years?
MRS. BUSH
I want to thank everybody for all the ways they were hospitable. All the people up and down our road. They would put up flags or bunting when we had a world leader visiting us. They decorated the entrances to their property, landscaping them with cactuses or other things, so it looked great when the world leaders came and I want to thank all of our neighbors so much for that.

Anything you'd like to say to the people of Central Texas?
MR. BUSH
I do, I'd like to say thank you to all the folks out there for putting up with the inconvenience of my presidency. I know that helicopters rattle some windows sometimes, and there were protestors and, by the way, there were a lot of people supportive of the decision I made that were there, so a lot of people who showed up...and a lot of noise and a lot of activity. And I'm sure a lot of people were inconvenienced because of traffic being stopped. I do want to thank the people from the county and the Sheriff's department who helped facilitate my time there, it just really meant a lot to me, so thank you for giving me the chance to thank them.
