It's a chance for you to watch the Inauguration on the big screen.

Tuesday, Texas A&M will broadcast President-Elect Barack Obama taking the oath of office on 12th man TV, and the campus community is invited to take part in the festivities.

The doors of The Zone Club at Kyle Field will open at 10 a.m., with A&M President Dr. Elsa Murano making remarks shortly after.

The inauguration ceremony is expected to kick off around 10:30 a.m. and conclude around 1 p.m.

Light refreshments will be served at the event.

Robert you are correct and I am wrong but I can admit that unlike other people. What I meant when I said worthless white people of BCS is the white people that like to comment negative on every story on here that has nothing to do with white people. I should have been more specific because saying white people does mean every white person and I feel just like every black person is not a criminal, every white person is not racist. My views did come across racist and I do apologize for my ignorant speech. However in my last comment I tried to let it be known who my comment was towards, but like I said I did not word it correctly. If you look in my comment I also spoke up about people not just black people but about all people that has the ability to open their eyes and judge a man by his character and not the color of his skin. Once again thank you Robert for correcting me and you have a blessed day.

Hey Cateyes, thanks for referring to every white person in Bryan and College Station as worthless. This just goes to show that EVERY race, ethnicity, color, creed, sex, national origin can be just as prejudice and hatefull as the next. You can't get all bent out of shape and start your name calling at any one group for some leaving what you imagine to be racist comments; when you start doing this you become "racist" as well. Congratulations on proving your point. You are correct though, it is history. It will be even more historical at some later date when a 100% Black American is elected president.

As I read the scum that I read everyday from the worthless white people of BCS, I can only smile for now as of today your negativity as no weight. There is a black president and not only that as we saw today Kyle and Me only represent the scum of BCS because as we watched today, the augurations we saw whites, blacks, Indians and Africans celebrating. They were not celebrating what Me says is worthless they were celebrating history. Obama is not being treated special because he is black, this is a day of celebration because rather you like it or not this will always be known as history. Just like when the white people owned the slaves and Lincoln ended slavery it was history. Me will not be happy with a leader unless his skin is white but my people and I am not talking about my black people I am talking about every open eyed person that has the education to see people for their character and not the color of their skin, this is the hate that Obama said will not turn him away. Yes We Can!

I guess you could call it a waste if only a few people show up. If enough people showed, than it was not a waste.

this was a waste of money to open kyle field for this circus show

Sorry to burst your bubble, AJ, but this has nothing to do with prejudice. It has to do with how people like you are worshiping Obama as if he is a messiah. He is a man, nothing more, nothing less. If Obama was white, it would still be a waste of time. Of course the standard reply to any criticism of "The One" will be a cry of racism.

I agree with AJ. This is a historical moment. He is a great man. Your hateful comments cannot and will not change anything.

You people are pathetic. To "ME", you're just ignorant and can't help that I guess. To "KYLE" and all the others, want a bit of cheese with that whine? We've had 8 years of King George and his court jesters. Time for something a bit more positive.

Kyle - This is not about Democrats and Republican. This is history. I hate that you can't see beyond the prejudice view that your parent taught you. That is sickening.

150 MILLION spent on this! Are you freaking kidding me? With the economy the way it is, this should outrage all taxpaying Americans. I cannot understand why. If he was not "african-american" and we spent this much money, everyone would for sure be outraged. Just because he is "black" he should not be treated special. If he were a REAL leader he would see the absolute foolishness of wasting this much money and do it from inside the whitehouse and have it broadcast over the air so people could watch it for FREE and it would save us 149 million!!!! Way to step up and be a leader Barak... I can already tell that you think you are more important than the nation as a whole and are nothing more than and egotistical jerk. Here's to seeing you booted from office in four years when we find a real leader, with more that a couple years of experience to lead our nation out of the deeper hole you just dug for us!!!! I for one will not be watching even more of our tax dollars thrown away!!!!

sorry you feel that way!

what a waste of money. TAMU couldn't lower the price of reed for the cross town showdown in basketball, but they can open up Kyle Field for for this worthless occasion. what a waste of everyones money.

what a waste of money

Posted by: Not Enamored Location: Earth on Jan 19, 2009 at 11:20 PM
So ... does this mean TAMU employees who have real work to do during the hours of the event will be compensated the same amount of "work free" time away from the office as those who can attend? Huh? What about that, Dr. M?

Amen!!!

And if it was a Republican being sworn in tomorrow, there would be nothing except maybe a protest. We're not inaugurating a king or the Messiah. This adoration is sickening.
