The lone major leader going from the Bush Administration to the Obama cabinet will not attend Tuesday's inauguration.

When there are gatherings of the nation's biggest leaders like the State of the Union address, one cabinet member is taken to a secure location in case a catastrophic incident were to occur.

That person this time around according to the White House will be Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, the former president of Texas A&M. Gates was asked to remain in President-elect Barack Obama's cabinet once he takes over from President George W. Bush Tuesday.

Gates was asked to join the Bush cabinet in late 2006 to replace Donald Rumsfeld.

Anyone who do not approve of the new President of the US; seriously need to come out the dark ages and seek counseling. Once you realize this is exactly what this country need; you will feel better about yourself and others around you. As I viewed the inauguration, looking at all people coming together in WDC to be apart of the inauguration was a happy moment for me to see them fellowship with each other as if they were one big family. The media reported that the inauguration was a wonderful historic occasion for all who attended. God Bless America!!!!

MR. GATES IS SMART FOR NOT GOING TO THE INAUGURATION. I WOULD NOT WANT TO GO TO THE INAUGURATION EITHER. TOO MUCH COULD HAPPEN. THEIR ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE IN WASHINGTON; GOOD PEOPLE AND BAD PEOPLE. I DON'T TRUST ANY OF THEM. YOU CAN NOT PUT TWO BLACK PEOPLE IN A ROOM TOGETHER WITHOUT THEM STARTING AN ARGUMENT. JUST IMAGINE A CITY FULL. THE MEDIA REPORTS, -YOU DECIDE-
