The American Institute for Public Service created the Jefferson Awards in 1972, honoring those who have dedicated time to public service. Over the past 5 years, select local citizens have been honored with Jefferson Awards for their outstanding public service in our community.

Their mission at Still Creek Ranch is to create a loving, family environment for children. Click here to see Dan and Margaret O'Quinn's video profile. · Robert Lee Smith is a sergeant with the Bryan Police Department and Associate Pastor of Endtime Pentecostal Church. He was cited for his volunteer work in various organizations including a prison ministry. She is serving in her third term on the College Station ISD Board and volunteers with numerous organizations including the African American Museum and the Brazos Valley National Heritage Society. Mary was chosen to by the board of selectors to advance to Washington, D.C. as the Brazos Valley representative at the National Jefferson Awards ceremony in June. Four additional winners were honored from the Central Texas Area as chosen by KBTX sister station board of selectors from KWTX. |
