Volunteer donors and partners of the Be the Match Registry in the Central Texas area will be honored by the Scott &White Marrow Donor Program at the Be the Match Hero Bash on Tuesday December 1st at the College Station Hilton at 6:00 p.m.
The first- of- its- kind hero bash will be an opportunity to show appreciation to donors for their commitment, compassion and courage in saving lives and giving hope to patients requiring transplants. These volunteers are heroes, who have given of themselves to a cause bigger than themselves and rise to the occasion of saving lives when called upon. According to the words of Tom Brokaw, Heroes are people who rise to the occasion and quietly slip away, they are often not noticed by many.
The event will recognize these individuals for all they do to help promote marrow transplants for patients. It promises to be full of excitement, appreciation and great stories featuring one Brazos Valley donor who will meet the recipient of her donation for the first time.
The Scott &White Marrow donor program was founded as a network partner of the National Marrow Donor Program16 years ago and serves as a recruitment and donor center covering central Texas working with partners throughout the Brazos Valley. They provide year-round recruitment events that are focused on expanding the Be The Match registry. Every potential donor provides HOPE to every patient needing a transplant.
