Never have so few won so many at KBTX Media. KBTX News 3 dominated the Texas Associated Press Awards with 13 Awards for Excellence in Journalism. News 3 competed against 14 other television stations in its division. Television markets in that division include Waco-Temple-Killeen, Longview-Tyler, McAllen- Harlingen-Brownsville-Weslaco and El Paso.
"KBTX remains committed to raising the level of expectation we have in our news product, both on-air and online," KBTX Media General Manager Mike Wright said about the awards.
"It takes time to build an award-winning product, but we never lost focus on the end goal. We are honored that the Associated Press affirmed that KBTX News is indeed a leader in local coverage," Wright said.
KBTX News 3 won awards in most of the categories entered, and more than any other television station in its division.
