Tommy Ray Preston Sr., 63, of College Station, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012.





Services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in College Station. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.





He was born April 7, 1949, he was an officer for College Station Police Department and Brazos County Sheriff's Office, he served for a combined twenty years.





After retiring in 1995, he and his wife Helena opened a daycare center where he worked along side his wife for twenty years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. He was also involved in Robison's Auto Pool League for numerous years.





His wife and family, many friends and daycare babies will miss him dearly.





He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelby Preston Sr. and Angerlee Preston; brother, Shelby Preston Jr.; and his daughter, Yvonnedala Preston.





Survivors include his beloved wife, Helena R. Preston; and children, Senette Preston, Tommy Preston Jr., Rodney Johnson, Bridget Johnson, Ericka Johnson and Theron Daniel; his brother, Lorenzo Preston; and sisters, Annie Bee Lister and Mary Jean Dorsey; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.





The family extends their deepest thanks to their church family, many friends and the community for the outpouring of love and support you have shown us during this very difficult time. May God richly bless you for your kindness.
