Georgia M. Freiberger

Georgia M. Freiberger, 97, passed away Wednesday morning, May 30, 2012, at Wesleyan Nursing Home in Georgetown. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, at Rest-Ever Memorial Park in Bryan.





Georgia was born April 6, 1915 in Altoga, Texas, the daughter of Barr Carson and Myrtie Belle (Carroll) Terrell. As a young girl, she worked on the family farm picking cotton and corn. In February of 1937 she married James Marcus Tipton. He worked for Southwestern Bell, which had them living throughout Oklahoma where Georgia also worked for Southwestern Bell.





In the early 1960's Georgia moved to Bryan/College Station and began working at the Texas A&M University Book Store; She retired after 18 years of service. After retirement, Georgia stayed busy volunteering at the St. Joseph Hospital gift shop. She married William Freiberger in May 1973. Georgia was a member of First Baptist Church in Bryan.





She is preceded in death by her husband, William Freiberger; brothers, Milton Terrell and B.C. Terrell Jr.; and a sister, Janelle Lewis.





She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Ruth Tipton of Georgetown; step-daughter, Emma Maye Freiberger of Katy; step-son, Henry "Hank" Freiberger of Coppell; brother, Wilson Terrell of Plano; grandchildren, Martha (Marti) Tipton-Himelblau of Round Rock, Marcus Tipton of Granbury; great-grandson, Robert Dinger; great-great-grandson, Gavin Dinger; nieces, Judy Kalbas of Joshua and Glenda Morse of Duncan Oklahoma; and nephew, Steve Musser and wife, Sherry of College Station.





In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association , P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
