Barbara "NaNa" Groom

December 28, 1936 – June 27, 2012




Barbara "NaNa" Groom, 75, of Bryan, went to wait for us in Heaven on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Sherwood Health Care in Bryan.




A Memorial Service celebrating her life is set for 10 a.m., Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, with a live webcast for family and friends unable to attend.




Barbara was born December 28, 1936, in Columbus, Ohio, to Carl and Anna Groom. She has lived in this area for 30 years after moving from Conroe.




She was preceded in death by her sisters, Jacquelyn Jones and Constance Walker, and her parents.




Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Harper, of Bryan, Rhonda Zaboroski and partner Jack Wainwright, of North Carolina, Jennifer Olexey and husband Adam, of Bryan; son, Thomas L. Font, of Colorado; brother, Gerald Groom and wife Dee; sisters, Joan Dohner and Martha Gutreaux; grandchildren, Joel T. Welch and wife Paula and their daughter Alecia, Taylor Smith, Katelyn Olexey, Samuel Olexey, Hope Olexey, Danielle Savage; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.
