M.K. Smith, 87, of Franklin, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2012, in Bryan, Texas. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at the Henry Prairie Cemetery, with Rev. Louie Walston officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.
He was born on December 18, 1924, in the Henry Prairie Community of Robertson County, Texas, to Morris Kendrick Smith and Margaret Katherine Smith. He married Vivian Marie Tullous on June 24, 1950. Mr. Smith was a World War II Veteran serving during the Japan Occupation. Mr. Smith was employed with the W.F. Sander Company in Hearne for 44 years and the Hearne Housing Authority for 7 years before his retirement. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin and a member of the Henry Prairie Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and a niece.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Smith, of Franklin; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Richard Isbell of Denton; sister, Catherine D'Manche, of Maryland; two nieces, and three nephews.
