Susan Denise O’Berski, age 57, of College Station, went to be with her Lord on Sunday July 29th 2012. A time for family to receive friends will be held on Thursday August 2, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm at Hillier Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 2541 Earl Rudder Freeway South, College Station with Father Edwin Kagoo, officiating. Interment will be at held at a later date.
Susan was born on June 4, 1955 to Thaddeus and Olga Olen in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She attended Grosse Pointe North High School where she met and fell in love with Thomas O'Berski. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in 1979. Susan married Tom on June 20, 1980. She was a teacher, real estate agent and a programmer. She loved gardening, SCUBA diving, fishing, raising tropical birds, singing with the Sweet Adelines and driving her husband crazy.
They moved to College Station in 1995. Susan was involved in the Garden Club, Red Hats, and the Supper Club. Susan loved gardening, their cats, creating Halloween displays, volunteering at St. Thomas Aquinas and adding things to Tom's "honey do" scroll. Her faith, love and sense of humor continually confounded doctors thru out her 26 years of illness. Several doctors considered her a walking miracle. She never complained. She always thought of others first.
It was an honor and a privilege to take care of one of GOD's injured angels. The world is a little less joyful now that she has returned home. Jesus, Susan and Tom walked a path together. Truly a beautiful soul.
She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Thomas O’Berski; her mother, Mrs. Ann Olen; brother, Paul Olen and wife, Mary; sisters, Karen Wright and husband, Jim, Lauren Bosley and husband, Scott and Nancy Hiestand and husband, Ron; brother-in-law, Mike O’Berski and wife, Suzie and sister-in-laws, Linda Grant and husband, Bill, Sharon Porter and husband, Richard and Ann Hart. Susan is preceded in death by her father, Thaddeus Olen.
