Dirk Scifres

January 7, 1962 - August 11, 2012




Dirk Scifres, 50, of Bryan, lost his long hard fight with cancer on August 11, 2012. A celebration of his life is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, August 18, at the Scifres' residence.




He was first a husband and father but also a son, uncle, friend, and co-worker. He was a mentor, supporter and true warrior, fighting cancer until the very end!




If Dirk was not working, cooking, baking, building, remodeling or restoring, he might be caught sharing popcorn and watching a Bogart movie! Dirk was a focused, hard working and responsible man, but he always had time to bake cupcakes or share his Reese's pieces.




Dirk was larger than life and so much fun! Although he has gone to a better place our love and his spirit will last forever.




He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Scifres.




Dirk leaves behind his loving wife, Vickie Scifres; and their son, Andrew Scifres; his mother, Julia; a sister, Holly; and numerous loving family members and dear friends.
