Jo Ann (Ruth) Terrell

Jo Ann Ruth Terrell, 80, of Bryan, passed away August 14, 2012 at the Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility in Bryan.




Jo Ann was born October 14, 1931 in Houston, Texas to Milton Lewis Ruth and Grace Hilman Williams Ruth. A 1948 graduate of Garland High School, she also attended Texas State College for Women before marrying William Brown Terrell, Jr. in July 1951. As a wife of a United State Air Force officer, Jo Ann had an important role in supporting Bill in his career as a pilot in their many assignments through out the United States and overseas. Together they moved to Bryan in the early 1980's. Among Jo Ann's many interests were attending Aggie Softball games, watching the Astros, and reading. She will be remembered as a welcoming hostess, faithful friend, and caring sister, wife, mother, aunt and grandparent.




Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her daughter Carolyn Ann Terrell.




She is survived by her sister, Betty Grace Ruth Hillin of Kerrville; son, William Douglas Terrell, and his wife Louise V. Terrell of Burke, Va; daughter, Katherine Doris Nichols and her husband T. David Nichols of Manila, Philippines; and grand-children, D. Andrew Nichols, Katherine E. Nichols, Allison V. Terrell, Elizabeth M. Terrell and John A. Terrell.




A visitation with family will be at Hillier's Funeral Home from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturday, August 18, 2012; there will be an opportunity to share remembrances at 4 p.m. Burial will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio at a date to be determined.




In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W. 26th Street, Bryan, Texas, 77803
