Funeral services for J.W. "Joe" Eaton, 85, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, September 21, at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Bailey officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Garden with full Military Honors.




Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 20, at the funeral home.




Mr. Eaton died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Decatur Morgan-Parkway Hospital. He was born May 18, 1927, in Arkansas to Alton H. Eaton and Bonnie L. (Moore) Eaton. Mr. Eaton was a member of Danville Baptist Church. He was a retired Lt. Commander, for the U.S. Navy. He loved fishing, hunting, and woodworking and loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.




Survivors include his wife, Ramona Lee (Paul) Eaton, of Hartselle, Ala.; son, Mike Eaton and wife Karen of Hartselle, Ala.; daughters and sons-in-law, Aleta Haynes of Crossville, Tenn., Angela Traylor and husband Bryce of Decatur, Ala., Melinda Steele and husband Freddie of Decatur, Ala., and




Robin Adams of Bryan, Texas; sisters, Hazel Parker and Martha Carol, both of Hartselle, Ala.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.




The Military will provide Pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Eaton, Josh Haynes, Michael Eaton, Brian Mills, Bryce Traylor, Anthony Hallmark, Freddie Steele and Derek Eaton.
