Sterling Ray Braswell

Sterling Ray Braswell, age 49, of College Station, Texas passed away quietly at home on Monday, September 24, 2012.




A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Christ United Methodist Church in College Station. Sterling will be inurned in the Columbarium at Christ United Methodist Church.




Sterling was born September 14, 1963 to Eddie Roy and Carolyn Ruth Childress Braswell in Colorado City, Texas, the third of four children.




He is survived by his son Spencer Ray Braswell, age 12 of Waco, Texas. He is also survived by his father Eddie Roy Braswell of College Station, Texas; his sister Ginger Carole Williams and her husband Matt Williams of The Woodlands, brother Eddie Van Braswell and wife Elissa of Crowley, and brother Gentry Braswell of Houston. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends and extended family. He is preceded in death by his mother Carolyn Ruth Childress Braswell.




Sterling graduated from A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, Texas in 1982 and was a graduate of Texas A&M University in. Sterling landed in Dallas and worked for IBM and Micro Solutions, where he found a large group of friends.




He left the Dallas to work for Microsoft in Los Angeles, Seattle and Brazil. He returned to Texas where he continued to work for Microsoft and other technology interests. Through all the moves he experienced much of life and gave that back to friends and family along with more laughs and good times than most have in several lifetimes. He enjoyed Aggie Football games, often with commentary on the results, as well as his ranch and travels.




Sterling loved being with people and entertained them with stories of life, as well as commentary on current absurdities.




However the highlight of his life was always the birth and parenting of his son, Spencer. Spencer was his pride and joy. .




Memorials to Sterling may be made to the Methodist Children's Home, 1111 Herring Ave. Waco Texas 76708 or to Christ United Methodist Church 4201 Highway 6 South, College Station Texas 77845.
