Erna (Ellermann) Flowers, 88, of Bryan passed away Thursday evening in Kingsville, Texas. Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan, with Reverend Randall C. Bard officiating. Burial will follow at Kurten Cemetery.




Erna was born on February 29, 1924 in Lynn Grove, Texas to August and Emma (Hemann) Ellermann. She was a longtime and very active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan. She was an honorary member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and a longtime Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Helping Hands Quilting Group. She retired as the Medical Ophthalmology Secretary for Dr. Anderson of Bryan.




She is preceded in death by her son James Busse on April 5, 1984; her first husband Ervin L. Busse on March 30, 1988; and her second husband Dr. Arch Flowers.




She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Dr. Jerry Underbrink of Kingsville; step-daughter, Suzan Arnold of College Station; grandchildren, Kerri and Justin Kibbey of Tampa, Florida, Daniel and Lindsay Underbrink of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kristin and C.R. Michalk of Oceanside, Ca.; great-grandchildren, Briley Underbrink, Zane and Kennedy Kibbey, and Madison Michalk.




In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be to the Bethel Lutheran Church Building Fund, 4221 Booneville Road, Bryan, Texas 77802.
