Marcy Lee (Allen) Toalson

A memorial service For Marcy Lee (Allen) Toalson will be celebrated Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m with Reverend David Porterfield, Associate Pastor, officiating. Mrs. Toalson was born in Canton, Texas in 1920 and passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2012.




Marcy met her husband Alex Allen while both attended North Texas State Teachers College. They married in 1938 and moved to Bryan in the late 1940's when he accepted a position with the Brazos County Health Department. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Brazos County Credit Union, a bookkeeper for Bernath Concrete Products and pursued her love of music as the Choir Director for the First Methodist Church.




She also owned and operated the Ding Dong Dell Kindergarten. Following Mr. Allen's death in 1979, Marcy married Clayton Toalson of Bellville in 1984 and they remained in Bryan until his death in 1993.




Marcy and Alex's son Wayne Allen preceded his mother in death in 2003. Marcy moved to Tomball, Texas in 2011 following several illnesses in order to be near her daughter and her family.




She is survived by her daughter, Laura Jean and son-in-law William Loving; two step-daughters, Carolyn Purcell of Austin, TX and Susan Toalson of Florence, Italy; one step-son, David Toalson and wife Bonnie of Bellville; ten grandchildren and spouses; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
