Gary was born May 21, 1940 to Evans Anderson Hott and Laura Waunita (Fulps) Hott in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Gary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell. In the early years of their marriage Gary drove cross country trucks with his wife as his driving partner. He loved the outdoors and he loved his grandkids. Gary grew up in Grapevine, Texas with his grandparents. He worked all of his life for his kids, and at 71, was still working full time until his illness prevented him from working any more.

Gary married the love of his life on October 16, 1975 in Ft. Worth, Texas. They moved to different parts of Texas and Louisiana during the early years of their marriage and when the opportunity arose, they moved back to Caldwell where they raised their four children. Of all his jobs, driving a truck was his greatest joy. He devoted his life to his wife, his children and family. He also enjoyed working outside on the homestead. All the grandchildren loved their "Papa."

Gary is survived by his wife Dolores (Mendez) Hott of Caldwell; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Ray Hott of Forth Worth, Cable and Deanna Hott of San Marcos, Chance and Charissa Hott of Caldwell; daughters and son-in-law, Casey and Levis Ordones of College Station, Cooper and Brian Jasper of Alamogordo, NM, brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Kelly Hall of Irving; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dianne and Glen Yeatts of Los Angeles, California, Dolores and Nick Rovenko of Oklahoma; and eight grandchildren; Cahill and Cawood Ordones, Dale, Marshall, and Tarah Hott, Cayden and Cillian Jasper, and Imogen Hott.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
