Charles Augusta Langston Sr., 74, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at his home. Services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday, October 11, at Saviors Temple Church with George Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, at Daniel & Son Funeral Home in Bryan.
Charles A. Langston Sr. was born July 4, 1938 in Bryan to Ida Mae Young and Trisar Langston and graduated from Blackshear High School in Hearne. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed gospel music, traveling and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Willie Charles Langston.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Langston; sons and daughters-in-law, Victor Langston and Trina, Charles Langston Jr. and Monica, James Langston, Terry Langston Sr. and Bijai; daughter, Chanene Hunter Pratt and Thomas Lane; brother, Willie Young and Barbara; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deliah Young, Erma Jones and Robert, Clara Carter and Willie, Dianne Daniels and James, Nealie Shepard and Emmit, Ida Benford, Betty Davis and Robert; grandchildren, Brandick Hunter, Kourtney Pruett, Brittany Langston, Teryn Langston, Terrika Langston, Stephanie Langston, Charles Langston III, Tyler Langston, Taylor Langston, Elexis Schuster, Terry Langston Jr.; great-grandchildren, Ke'Niya Coleman, Ca'leiah Montgomery, Brayson Williams, Benny Jones Jr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, special friends, nieces, nephews, other family and friends including special cousin, Charlie J. Langston.
Pallbearers will be Robert Lee Jones, Marvin Johnson, Cleaveland Sterling, Brylan Davis, Jason Daniels, Bobby Davis, David Jones, Bernest Carter, Rodney Thomas, Cedrick Auston, Robert Gongaree. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Langston, Charles Langston Jr., James Langston, Terry Langston, Brandick, Willie Young, Robert Jones Jr., Willie Carter, James Daniels, Robert Davis.
The family extends special thanks and appreciation to Dr. William Hoffman, Dr. Sullivan and Texas Home Health Care Hospice.
