Evangelist Ocie Lee Owens-Williams, 63, of Bryan, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at Brazos Valley Hospice.




Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, October 12, at Jones-Washington Mortuary. Services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, October 13, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with Bishop M.C. Williams, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.




Evangelist Williams was born June 29, 1949 in Bryan, to Lee Andrews and Ocie Mae Owens. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. She was a member of Endtime Evangelist Pentecostal Church and an ordained Evangelist with S.D. James Evangelist Association, Inc.




She was preceded in death by her mother, Ocie M. Owens, and husband, Lovi J. Williams; daughter, Melinda N. Douglas.




Survivors include her son, Joseph H Williams; Godson, Jamal Carter, Jr. of Bryan, Goddaughter, Catherine R. Pope; father, Lee Andrew Owens; mother-in-law, Johnnie M. Williams; brothers, Otis Charles Owens of Katy; Gary Owens of Houston; brothers-in-law, Johnny L. Williams, Bishop M C Williams and Wanda; sisters, Alfreda Brisby of Kingwood; Deborah and Pamela Owens of Bryan; sister-in-law, Shirley Felder and Walter, Pastor Gwendolyn Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, including special friends, Sirender Chahal, Rose King.




The family extends special thanks to the staffs of St. Joseph Cancer Center, Hospice Brazos Valley, Endtime Church Family and Owens family members who assisted in Minister Ocie's care.
