Betty Leatrice (Laughlin) Dean

Betty Leatrice (Laughlin) Dean passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Crestview Retirement Community in Bryan, Texas at the age of 87. Visitation will be from 10 AM until noon at Hillier Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Graveside services will be Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Southpark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas at 4 PM.




Betty was born on June 19, 1925 to Claude Paul and Aliene E. (Moehr) Laughlin of Houston, Texas. She was married to Herbert A. Dean for 63 years who passed away September 21, 2008.




She was a sixth generation Houstonian.




She is survived by her sons, Allen, and wife Susan of Bryan, and Barry Dean and wife Judith, of Pasadena, Texas. Also surviving are her grandchildren, David Dean, Jennifer Dean, and Brandi Dean; great-grandchildren, Cody Lee Dean, Jake Dean, and Kellie Morris.




In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Crestview Retirement Community, Bryan, Texas, the Herbert A. Dean Entomology Scholarship, (checks made payable to the Texas A&M Foundation and sent to the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University), College Station, Texas; or a charity of your choice .
