Catherine Ann (Morris) Dorsett, age 75, of Bryan went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 10, 2012. A time for the family to receive friends will be Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Hillier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012
at 10:30 am at Hillier Funeral Chapel Catherine Ann (Morris) Dorsett, age 75, of Bryan went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 10, 2012. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 10:30 am at Hillier Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chris Osborne, pastor of Central Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 pm at Tehuacana Cemetery in Tehuacana, Tx.
Catherine Ann (Morris) Dorsett was born on June 26, 1937 in Odessa, Texas. She was the only daughter of Clyde and Gracie D. (McLain) Morris. When she was young, her family moved to Winnsboro where Catherine attended all grades graduating from Winnsboro High School as valedictorian. She attended East Texas State Teachers College for a semester. She married Donald J. Dorsett June 1, 1957 in Winnsboro. Catherine worked as a secretary in the Agriculture Economics Department while her husband finished his degree at Texas A&M. She then spent four years as an Air Force wife in Chandler, Minnesota and Rome, New York among many other places. After the Air Force her family lived in Cleburne for two years then moved to Richardson when her husband worked for the Texas Research Foundation. After 15 years, the family moved to Bryan where Don worked for the Texas Agriculture Extension Service and Catherine spent several years assisting with student registration at A&M. Catherine loved all children and worked in her church nurseries and was a member of Mended Hearts and George Tucker, Patriot Descendants Association. She was the surrogate mom to Matt's buddies in Company D-2 class of '92 and made each one feel like part of her family. From an Aggie family, she was a life-long passionate Aggie football fan and we know she had something to do with A&M's defeat of #1 Alabama. Gig 'Em! Left behind from her passing is her husband of 55 years Don and her sons, Donald Keith and wife Kim Dorsett of Waco, Matthew Morris and wife Tammy Dorsett of Plano and a daughter Kim Elaine and husband Rich Roberts of Dallas, as well as her grandchildren Lindsey Catherine Roberts and Meredith Laine Roberts both of Dallas, Cameron Keith Dorsett and Anna Grace Dorsett both of Waco and Andrew Porter Dorsett, Meg Olivia Dorsett and William Bo Dorsett all of Plano and a brother Billy Clyde Morris of Conroe.
