Jesse David "Jess" McCrory, 71, of Hearne, Texas, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at St. Joseph's Regional Health Center in Bryan, Texas, due to complications from by-pass heart surgery.




Funeral services were 10 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Hamburg with Dr. Bobby Pennington and Rev. Jerry Burns officiating. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Gause Full Gospel Church with Rev. Jerry Burns officiating. Burial was in the Flat Creek Cemetery in Fountain Hill, Arkansas with full military honors.




Jess was a native of Montrose, Arkansas; a resident of Hearne, Texas for the past 10 years and a former resident of Somerville, Texas and Hamburg, Arkansas for many years. He graduated from Lakeside High School in Lake Village, Arkansas in 1958 and he graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1963, with a degree in Agronomy. He is a veteran of the United States Army having retired from the military after 29 years of service. He was a farmer and a member of the Gause Full Gospel Church and a former member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Hamburg, Arkansas. He led a life of service, beginning with his military career, and reached a broad range of causes that he cared about including serving on the Hamburg School Board. Jess loved to play golf and hunt.




He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Siscily Slater McCrory and a brother, Thomas McCrory.




He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Margaret Cason McCrory of Hearne; a daughter, Missy McCrory Warren and her husband, Charles, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a brother, Roger McCrory and his wife, Donna, of Basehor, Kansas; twin sisters, Ella Ferguson and her husband, Bill, of Crossett, Arkansas, and Della Slaughter and her husband, Bobby, of Hamburg, Arkansas; and two grandchildren, Marley and Jesse Warren of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
