Susie Elizabeth Leath went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, at Marlow Cemetery with visitation one hour prior to service time at the cemetery. Rev. Ralph Powers will officiate.

Susie, a homemaker, was born in the Marlow community near Cameron on November 16, 1918 to Bert and Annie Bell Tindall Short. She attended Marlow Elementary School and later Yoe High in Cameron. On November 24, 1936 she married George M. Leath and he preceded her in death in 1997.

She and George moved to Calvert in 1942 and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her brother Jim Short, her sister, Bernice Short, and her two sons, John "Mecky" Leath and George (Bo) Leath.

She is survived by her daughters: Judy and husband Billy Elliott of Franklin and Linda and husband Will McBeth of Midlothian. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Staci McBeth Bush and husband Kent, Steven McBeth, Craig M. Leath and wife Kathy and seven great-grandchildren.
