Funeral services for Monica Leann "Littlebit" Poehl, of Somerville, Texas, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday December 3, 2012 at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville, with Rev. Terry Moon, officiant. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are Hugh Barnett, Tom Hanson, Spencer Hanson, Jimmy Palmos, Kyle Coffer and Caleb Castellano. Honorary pallbearers are T.D. Palmos, Charlie Palermo, Adam Barnett, Mark Hanson, Mike Villalobos, Clayton Chamblis, Tony Chamblis, Jacob Hanson, Matt Hanson, Iggy Yguerabide and Willis Gilliam.




Mrs. Poehl was born December 18, 1940 in Syracuse, NY. On March 11, 1982 she married Larry Poehl. She loved traveling, camping and fishing. Monica worked for many years as a retail clerk at Lake Somerville Marina. She was also a member of the National Rifle Association.




Monica is preceded in death by her parents, and one sister.




Survivors include her husband, Larry Poehl of Somerville; sister-in-law, Shirley Gilliam of Somerville; mother-in-law, Alice Townley of Brenham.




Memorials may be made to Sherwood Nursing Home, 1401 Memorial Drive
Bryan , TX 77802.
