Bobby Rice, 62, of Bryan, Texas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 29, 2012. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Tanglewood Park in Bryan. Arrangements are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory in Bryan.




He was born in Bryan, Texas on September 22, 1950. Bobby was raised in Normangee, Texas where his mother and father, Bob and Ann Rice, owned and operated the Rice Pharmacy for over 35 years. Bobby graduated from Normangee High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Sam Houston State University. Following the completion of his degree, he moved back to Bryan and worked for multiple companies including Atlas Van Lines and Siegert's Heating and Air for many years. In 2005, he was forced to retire due to medical complications. Bobby created a name for himself in the billiard league here in a Bryan; he could always be found either playing pool with friends or watching his favorite sport of football! Bobby will be missed by many friends and family, including his dog Rusty who he dearly loved.




Survivors include his sister, Becky Thompson and her husband Chub Harmstad, of South Carolina; brother Brad Rice of Normangee, Texas; nephew Isaac Rice of Normangee, Texas; niece Ashleigh Thompson of South Carolina, and his son and his wife, Brandon and Heather Dickinson of Midlothian, Texas.




In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobby's name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to the St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Hilltop, Texas.
