Dolores "Joanne" Congleton, 90, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Home.




A memorial service celebrating Joanne's life is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, December 8, at Pierre Funeral Home in Evansville, Ind., with the Rev. Terry Gamblin officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until time of Service Saturday at the funeral home.




Joanne was a 1943 graduate of the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Danville, Ill., and began working at Deaconess Hospital in 1952 in the Emergency Room. She retired from Deaconess in 1977 at the Assistant Director of Nursing Service. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church and several local Red Hat Society groups.




Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Stacy L. Congleton in 1998; her parents, Joseph and Brownie Sollars; and a sister, Pat Wier.




Surviving are her daughter, Harriet Heinlin of Evansville; two sons, Jerome (Jaye) Congleton of College Station, and Larry (Kay) Congleton of Evansville; grandchildren, Drew (Sue) Congleton, Rebecca (Bobby) Boenigk, Catie (Steve) Bushman, Brooke (Scott) Wheeler, Adam (Sarah) Congleton and Trey (Robin) Clark; great grandchildren, Chase and Claire Congleton, Justin and Ben Dibbern, Ryan and Rachel Boenigk, Cannon and Gunnar Coker, Sadie Bushman, Wren Wheeler, Chloe Congleton, Travis Clark and a great great grandson, Weston Clark.




The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Good Samaritan Home for the excellent care they gave to Joanne.




Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 1040 N. Fulton Ave., Evansville, IN 47710.
