April 16, 1970 – December 6, 2012

Sara Diane Kothmann was born April 16, 1970, in San Antonio, Texas. At two weeks of age, she was adopted through the Methodist Mission Home in San Antonio and joined her new family living in Seymour, Texas. The family moved to College Station, Texas in June of 1970 and Sara lived in College Station the rest of her life.
Sara was baptized in the United Methodist Church at Seymour, Texas in May of 1970, and was confirmed with her 6th grade confirmation class at A&M UMC in College Station in 1982. She remained a member of A&M UMC the rest of her life.

Growing up, Sara was very active in Girl Scouts, earning her Silver Award and most of the Gold Award. She enjoyed Girls' Softball and spending time with her many friends. In High School, she was especially proud of the years she spent in Choir. She graduated from A&M Consolidated High School in 1988 and from the Blinn LVN Program in 1992. She worked mostly in local nursing homes during her career, although the favorite part of her career was the several years she spent working with Dr. David Pope in his family medicine practice and the Residency Program he founded. A type-1 diabetic herself since the age of 10, Sara was especially helpful with and loved by the geriatric diabetic patients in her care. Sara was an enthusiastic Dallas Cowboy fan as well as Aggie fan. She enjoyed being outdoors, loved her rose garden, and her pets.

Sara was especially close to her brother, Kevin, and they were best friends, which was supportive for both of them. She loved her children and enjoyed telling of their accomplishments and joys. Sara did thoughtful things that brought much joy to her family and friends.

Sara passed from this life on December 6, 2012, at the age of 42, as a result of a brain hemorrhage. She had suffered from diabetic complications, broken bones, and hospital stays in recent months. Her Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, December 9, 2012, at A&M UMC in College Station, Texas.

Sara is survived by her parents, Mort and Kathy Kothmann, of College Station; three children, Joshua Kothmann, Darian Norrid, and Haiden Williams all of College Station; brother, Kevin Kothmann of College Station; sister, Cyndi Dowling of Killeen; her husband from whom she has been separated, James Williams; nieces and nephews, Lorelie Barrington of Franklin, Texas, Madison Kothmann and Morgan Kothmann of College Station, LCpl Taylor Kothmann of Twenty-Nine Palms, Cal., Ayriel Rush of Orlando, Fla., Tiffany Sanford and Chase Dowling of Fort Benning, Ga., Danica Dowling of Gulfport, Miss., and Cassidy Dowling of Killeen, Texas; great-nephews, Gunner Barrington of Franklin, Texas, Kenneth Sanford and Andrew Sanford of Fort Benning, Ga.
